What is the Toyota FCV Fuel Cell Vehicle
We’re always looking for ways to save money and reduce our carbon footprint at Western Slope Toyota. We’re excited to offer a number of extremely fuel efficient vehicles, such as the 2015 Toyota Prius and the 2015 Toyota Camry, but there is another vehicle that comes to mind when we put Toyota and fuel efficient in the same sentence: the Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle.
What is the Toyota FCV Fuel Cell Vehicle, you ask? Well, it is a completely electric four-door sedan that makes its own electricity. The Toyota FCV was named by Popular Science to be the winner of the 2014 Best of What’s New in the automotive industry. The Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle uses the same hybrid technology that is in all other Toyota hybrid drive systems, but replaces the gas engine with a fuel cell stack. This vehicle isn’t yet a reality, but we’d expect to see it cruising the streets of California late next year.
The Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) takes less than five minutes to refuel and has a range of 300 miles. Another notable fact is that the only emissions from the tailpipe is water vapor, which is a first in the automotive industry. Read the rest of this entry
