Mesa Country Toys for TotsThe Toys for Tots event is a part of the Mesa County U.S Marine Corps Reserve Program. This program is looking for new and unwrapped toys to give to children in need. Last year, there was over 14,000 toys distributed and over 2,000 children supported.
Grand Junction Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army helps fight hunger, overcome poverty and teach kids. Some ways they look for help are by having food donated to them, people volunteering their time at local events and monetary gifts. Currently, their greatest need is 20LB+ turkeys to give to families in need.
Community Food BankThere are two ways you can help the Community Food Bank. You can volunteer your time by being an interviewer, administrative assistant or driver. Some of the most needed food for the holiday season include frozen turkey and ham, cornbread mix, sweetened condensed milk and canned yams. Other foods include dried pasta, fruit juice, cereals and soup.
