If you’re interested in hybrid technology and its incredible fuel (and money!) saving potential, but you just can’t live without the space and capability offered in a larger crossover/SUV-type vehicle, you certainly aren’t alone. Luckily, you now have an option that gives you the best of both worlds: the 2016 Rav4 Hybrid!
We’re excited to offer this option to our Grand Junction CO drivers, but we bet you’re wondering when that’ll be! We’ll give you the highlights that we know about this model so far, and try to zero in on when you can expect the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid dealership arrival date so that you can schedule your test drive!
2016 Rav4 Hybrid Specs
What do we know so far about the Rav4 Hybrid? Rounding out Toyota’s extensive hybrid lineup and bringing the total of available models to eight, the Rav4 will be available at two of the four Rav4 trim levels, the XLE and Limited. Yes, these are the higher trim levels so you’ll be getting a great suite of comfort, convenience, and tech features along with your fancy hybrid powertrain! Will a hybrid version of the introductory trims ever become available? Time will tell, but we’d imagine so – in time!
- Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive with AWD-i – This is actually standard on both Rav4 Hybrid trims!
- Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive – the one that keeps other Toyota hybrids on the map. A 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder is paired to a high-torque electric motor, with power that comes from one source or both, transitioning seamlessly enough that you don’t even know it!
- Combined system 194 horsepower, and zero to 60 time of 8.1 seconds – actually better than the gas version by nearly a second! Regenerative braking helps keep torque at an impressive 206 lb-ft. to give you a great driving experience!
So, When Is the Rav4 Hybrid Coming To Dealerships?
Right, when can you get your hands on the wheel of a Rav4 Hybrid? Since the hybrid option is part of the 2016 Rav4, redesigned for the new model year, it’s looking like you’re in the final stretch before it’s available, as the release has been slated for late 2015.
