Buy vs Lease near Fruita, CO
Are you currently in the process of deciding whether to lease or finance your next vehicle? Then consider reviewing this Western Slope Toyota synopsis, as we’d like to help you come to an informed decision! Afterward, feel free to stop by our location to get started.
Leasing
Are you looking to take home a factory-fresh car for an affordable price? When you sign a leasing agreement, you’ll be able to drive around Fruita with a brand-new car for two to four years. During this time, you will pay for the average depreciation rate of your vehicle, which is dependent on the mileage limit you have set at the beginning. This is often less than financing a car, and will give you a bit of levity when it comes to what vehicles are available to you. Whenever these deals come to an end, you will be able to pursue one of many paths. For instance, you can finance the model for its remaining price, sign another leasing contract for another car, or simply hand in the keys and walk away after a brief inspection process.
Financing
Are you looking to one day own the car you drive across I-70? In this case, our dealership team would like to help you finance your next vehicle. Unlike leasing, these ask for more commitment out of you, as they typically last for four to seven years, and will be more costly. However, this comes with the added benefit of knowing that once these contracts come to an end, you will completely own the vehicle. This means you can make physical adjustments without consequence, and you will not have to worry about your next car note as you take your family for a day out at Dinosaur Hill. Be sure to check out our current incentives to see if we have any current deals awaiting you.
What’s Best For You?
The choice to finance or lease your next vehicle is not a simple one, so you’ll want to consider your individual circumstances when determining which will best fit your lifestyle. For instance, are you currently working within a tighter budget? Then you may prefer the lower monthly costs of a leasing agreement. However, if you find yourself driving more than the average person, you may find the lack of a mileage limit in a financing contract to be more beneficial. Furthermore, you will want to consider whether you plan on moving in the future, as this makes the temporary nature of a lease more convenient for you. Once you’ve decided the route you want to take, stop by our Finance Department at your earliest convenience!

“ I recommend Western Slope Toyota, specifically Sadie Lemarr. I went to the dealership to do some primary research on different vehicles that I was interested in, as I never saw some of them in person. I spoke to Sadie, and as a women buying her first vehicle solo, I immediately felt comfortable working with Sadie. She was super patient and answered all of my questions regarding colors, different packages, etc. I met with and messaged her multiple times during the process to view and drive different options as they became available. She was never pushy to close the sale and was super kind as we worked through the different options together. Such a smooth process. Thanks, Sadie! ”

“ Sadie was absolutely amazing to work with! I purchased a RAV4 Limited and she was extremely patient, super sweet, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the whole car-buying process feel easy and stress-free. I never felt pressured at any point—she truly listened to what I wanted and took the time to answer all of my questions. Her professionalism and genuine care really stood out, and it made a big difference in my experience. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and highly recommend asking for Sadie if you’re looking for a great, no-pressure car-buying experience! ”
“ Brandon Case, my Salesman was professional, not pushy and super informative. He made buying a new car a great experience! Would definitely refer or go back to him again. ”
“ I had a great experience working with Nate while purchasing my new Toyota—he made the process smooth. Unfortunately, my experience since then hasn’t been as positive. The service department continues to call and email me to confirm an appointment four months out that I never scheduled. Despite multiple requests to cancel it, the confirmations keep coming. It’s become frustrating and is taking away from what I felt was a decent car purchasing experience. ”
“ I’ll be selling my Toyota. I don’t want to deal with these people again. ”
“ Terrible service. All I wanted help with was finding a part number for a tail light and these people are so greedy that they wont tell me what the part number is. Its against policy. They have all the tools and resources to help but all they want is your money. Greedy greedy greedy. Its all about taking your money. ”
“ Shelby’s demeanor is often perceived as condescending, which can be quite off-putting. It is a testament to the fact that one should avoid making assumptions based on outward appearances, a principle most of us have been taught since our early education. ”
“ Poor service ”

“ I visited Western Slope Toyota to purchase a new vehicle and was misled three times by the finance manager during the closing process. 1. WARRANTY GEOGRAPHY LIE: The finance manager stated that a warranty purchased from an out-of-state dealer would not be valid in Colorado. This is factually false. Toyota's own documentation confirms their warranty is honored at over 1,400 Toyota dealerships across the continental U.S. and Canada — regardless of where it was purchased. This is not a gray area. It is clearly stated on Toyota's website. 2. ARBITRATION MISREPRESENTATION: The finance manager stated that Colorado law requires buyers to sign an arbitration agreement. This is false. Arbitration clauses in vehicle purchase contracts are not required by Colorado law. They are optional agreements that benefit the dealership — not the consumer — by waiving your right to pursue legal action in court. 3. WARRANTY PRICING: After being told my out-of-state warranty was invalid (see #1 above), I was quoted a price $800 higher than what I had already been offered by another dealer for the same coverage. I am a retired 27-year law enforcement veteran. I recognize deliberate misrepresentation when I encounter it. These were not mistakes or misunderstandings — they were three separate attempts to manipulate a consumer transaction. I left without purchasing. I am not the only customer with complaints about this dealership. I would encourage any buyer to verify all verbal statements in writing before signing anything, and to independently research warranty terms directly at toyota.com before entering the finance office. ”
“ Was willing to buy a new Rav 4 today but the deal fell through over a 500.00 doc fee. I guess they have no power to knock off 500.00 for alittle paper work?! Find a dealer with no doc fee. For a $42,000 Toyota vehicle, a car salesman's commission is calculated based on the dealer's gross profit, not the total sale price. 1. Typical Commission Calculation Gross Profit Margin: Dealerships typically have a 2% to 6% profit margin built into the MSRP of a new Toyota. On a $42,000 car, a 5% gross profit would be $2,100. I guess this dealership is pretty greedy ”
“ Western Slope Toyota completely dropped the ball. This week my I helped a very close friend to buy a 2026 Toyota Tacoma. Financing wasn’t an issue — this was basically a cash deal. We told the salesman exactly what we wanted, including the specific color, which matters when you’re dropping this much money on a new vehicle. We were in no hurry and willing to wait to get color wanted. Instead of actually trying to help, the salesman shrugged and said, “We don’t have that and it’s going to be hard to get,” then immediately tried to push a different color — even after being told multiple times that wasn’t what we wanted. No effort. No options. No “let’s see what we can do.” Nothing. Just lazy salesmanship. So we drove to Glenwood Springs the next day, worked with an amazing salesman named Adam, and left with the exact truck we wanted in the exact color, just in time for Christmas. Funny part? They said a lot of customers from Mesa County are coming up there because Western Slope Toyota isn’t willing to try. That means Mesa County loses tax revenue, local workers lose commissions, and customers lose confidence — all because Western Slope Toyota couldn’t be bothered to try to make a sale. Color may seem “small,” but it’s a big deal when you’re paying this kind of money. They made it clear our business didn’t matter. Won’t be recommending them to anyone. ”
“ I came to this dealership on the day before thanks Giving after looking at a car on line for several weeks. Had my brother in law and Sister go look at it since I am out of town. The internet said the price was @ 42k. I went in with an offer of 38 ( fully expecting to negotiate with them) and they would'nt even Negotiate with me! I would have bought the car that day. So now they still have the car on their lot! Their Loss! ”
