In an age where small SUVs hold dominance, the choice to buy a sedan carries more weight than it did in the past. One of the most influential names in sedans is the Toyota Camry, and Toyota is still working year after year to make sure the Camry remains not simply relevant but a leader in the sedan market.
For 2021, Toyota adjusted the features of the Camry to keep it feeling fresh and modern without needing to redesign. The 2018 design has been tweaked both inside and out, but it is feature availability and the subtraction of the L trim that sticks out most. Now there are six trims, not counting V6 or hybrid versions of the major trims. With four hybrid trims and two V6 trims that number climbs to twelve. That’s a rather big number to choose from, so to help you decide, we created the following chart which gives you two handy highlights that describe each trim. The trims are listed from lowest to highest and trims with hybrid or V6 variants are listed in parenthesis.
Trim Level |
Highlight 1 |
Highlight 2 |
LE (Hybrid) |

XSE (Hybrid, V6) | Sport-Tuned Suspension | Leather-Trimmed Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifters |

One great thing about the Camry that you just will not find on competitor’s mid-size sedans is this level of hybrid availability. Those who are not satisfied with the base model engine’s performance have three options to chose from. The XLE and XSE have the V6 available, but the TRD trim comes with it standard. The engine combined with the best of the highlights of trims below it and racing-inspired design modifications make the TRD the most premium trim available. Still, the XSE offers enough to be considered a premium trim on its own.
